Together with the working visit of the ReCity Vienna team members to Armenia, a new stage of active fieldwork began. In collaboration with the University of Vienna, Yvonne Franz, Senior Urban Researcher with the ReCity project and Academic Director of Kooperative Stadt- und Regionalentwicklung, Universität Wien at the Postgraduate Center of the University of Vienna, and Hannah Szirota, researcher, joined the Armenian research team for two highly productive working days in Stepanavan.
During this visit, researchers from the TSD Lab conducted in-depth interviews with local residents who had previously worked in various industrial facilities. At this stage, the team focused on exploring the city’s industrial past and understanding how former workers perceive its transformation.
